How cute is this?

I'm totally digging this jacket! I wish it cost more like $15 instead of $79. Because of this, I'll not buy it and just think some day in the future, "Gee, I wish I had a cropped orange and black houndstooth blazer to wear with my cute black skirt and a pair of imaginary orange tights!"
My imagination holds the coolness of my wardrobe!

A funny little thing I just read...

Can you think of a better way to address this timeless problem of communicating the importance of certain aspects of our lives and the consequences of our choices?

Thanks

I'd like to start by thanking those who left lovely and insightful comments on my post requesting help.

I've narrowed my search for a camera considerably after reviewing the options and sites that were recommended.

Also, though I haven't picked out a new one yet, I will be purchasing a new shower pouf.

On the subject of knowing God's will...

I have accepted an offer for a new job. Although leaving the job I currently have is painful at the very least, the job I'll be moving to is an incredible opportunity. The new company is very excited to have me and I'm very excited to have accepted the position.

The job is going to require some pretty big changes, though. Get ready.

Closed Captioning brought to you by...

Last night, Softie and I went out to Applebee's for dinner. They have televisions all over the place and last night they were playing the same game. It was the Mariners vs. the Tigers. Softie was simply watching the game, meanwhile I was able to read the closed captioning.

It seemed obvious to me that there were two people performing the captioning for the game. One of them was pretty good. She (see how I assume?) kept up pretty well and what she typed made sense. Then there was the other person. WOW! I wasn't thinking that a baseball game could be SOOO FUNNY!

Oh my goodness! At the end of the meal, I just started reading the game to Softie. He just laughed and laughed. I was laughing, too. It was so absolutely hilarious the way this silly person strung non-words together to narrate the game of baseball. She clearly had little exposure to the game and seemed rather unfamiliar with the English language as well, but it definitely made for some good comic relief.

Crabby?

You're probably thinking..."What?! Two videos in a row?! What kind of slacker blogger is this?!

Well, this one really was funny to me and I found it all on my own.

So there ~ no one to share it with, no one to forget where they got it from.

Hmm...Mine.

Except pirated off some other site.

what is a blogger?

Someone asked me recently what a blog is. I responded with a generic answer that I got from Google.

To which I heard, "I thought a blogger was something sticky that a kid pulls out of their nose."

NIIICE!!!! I'm so proud to be a blogger! :+)

For the Sweet One!

This one's for you...

Okay. Please let me start by saying that there are things in my day to day life that I don't like to reveal to anyone except those closest to me. The story that follows is one of those things.

I'm only posting this here because my sweet daughter basically dared me to. And, since I'm an awesome mother AND grown up...I'm not going to back down from her challenge.

So now, a little back story. Insider information...just for you.

Sometimes my tummy gets a little upset. Sometimes, my digestion process is a little quick. Sometimes, it's a little slow. When it gets this way, it is always noisy.

Also, as back story, I grew up in a house that being with family was different than being with real people. We were expected to be normal when we were with other people and not so much when we were with family. Well, immediate family. This was modeled well for me in my youth.

Okay, so here's the story:

I picked Middle Mann from therapy today immediately following work where I was busy and some what anxious. I had cried for personal reasons in the middle of the day and then at the end of the day, I had to bother a doctor for their signature for an enrollment matter. During that encounter, I was asked what I was doing working on this type of project. Stress + anxiety + confrontation = me with nervousness. Clear?

So, I race up to the therapy unit where I am already 3 minutes late in picking him up. (more nervous) His therapist and I talked and I found myself putting my foot in my mouth. I'm really good at this sometimes. (growing anxiety)

I'm leaving with my mann and we race to car like always. I had left his door unlocked. His door was on the close side. I had to walk slowly all the way around the car, unlock my door, sit down, keys in the ignition, and seatbelt on. I beat him to the seatbelt. I mostly always do, but we enjoy the game. It really gets him giggling.

SO, while we were giggling about how I won, an overwhelming urge began rising up within me. Well, it wasn't really rising up. It was certainly stirring though. That gassy bubble started knocking on my back door. Upon realizing that it wasn't probably going to be a quiet one, I started singing a little song that I made up in that exact moment to that sweet boy of mine.

The tune was horrible. It was definitely LOUD. I don't remember the words exactly, but you'll get the picture - I hope.

Also, please remember...when you're with family and not normal people, you don't have to be normal. Socially acceptable - nope! That's out the window.

The song went something like this:
I love to fart!
I love my farts!!!
When that little bubble comes knocking
on the door
it begs to come out!
But my butt says WAIT!
Not until I sing a song!!!
PPPPBBBBLLLLLSSSSSSTTTTTT!

Oh yes! He totally laughed his behind off!! He loved the song!! And honestly, I felt a lot better.

I know, that's not very dignified, but sometimes, life isn't always about that. I'm pretty transparent, ya know??

Educational TV??

I'm watching a show on the History Channel about magnets. They just referenced an amazing fact about magnetism.

Now, I know that I don't have a degree or anything. It's just me here. Me and my high school edumacation, but isn't there a better number to describe emmensness than this? One Thousand Trillion. Wouldn't that be quadrillion??

I'm just saying...the History Channel is supposed to be educational, right? Why is it that they didn't try to say it the right way? Who decides what's educational around here??

Backwards Hot Water

Have you ever had the water knobs on a sink installed wrong? Have you ever turned the knob on the right and gotten hot water instead of cold?

Well, since we moved that's what happens every morning when I brush my teeth.

It might seem strange to just now be noting this here, seeing as how it has been fully 4 months that we've lived here, but the impacts of this little switcheroo are becoming greater and greater every. single. day!

Trying to learn a new habit in my bathroom has created a little tiny problem in the rest of my sink usage. In the sink usage I participate in every time I use a sink other than the one in my bathroom.

Yes. It's as though I'm just learning that there is consistancy in the world when it comes to sinks and the faucet configuration. I find myself doubting whether or not it'll be cold or hot whenever I turn on the water. I've even found myself waiting and waiting for the hot water to get hot...all the while pushing nothing but cold through the pipes.

It's a silly thing really. It could be corrected very easily. I just don't feel like doing it first thing in the morning and I don't remember to do it later since I'm not using it again until first thing the next morning.

But I do find it very interesting that there can be so much "fallout" just because there's one sink in my life that's not quite right. Maybe, just maybe, now that I've written about this, I'll remember to switch out the inputs later in the day. Maybe I'll even ask Softie to do it for me.

Hhhmmmm...there really are so many options, aren't there?

An inappropriate read

So, I was running through my Reader since I didn't have internet access in Portland yesterday. Days without internet are SO SAAAAD! Anyways, I was reading through my Reader and I found a link to this terribly inappropriate little post of a fine 13-year-old home-schooled kid.

So, being the good mom that I am, I totally read it to my daughter. She's quoting it already! Hilarious and very inappropriate. But funny. And worth sharing.

Let the record reflect, I have warned you as to its level of inappropriate, lest I find myself in Jesus' arms at the rapture very soon. (read it. then that will make sense.)
