I've signed up!

NaBloPoMo is coming up in November and it will mark my one year blogging anniversary. Sign up!!! (unless you've already done that because you're way cooler than me~you know who you are...)

follow up...

So, the sad-break-up-heart is not in full effect. The catastrophe has been averted. The busy-ness of life explained and the heart of my sweet daughter has been saved. YAY JJ!! Thanks for not breaking her heart today. The day was already hard enough without adding that to the mix.

This represents the fun that happens when water is involved.

While we're on the topic...

My Sweet One has threatened, as of late, to start a new blog. She references posts on a regular basis.

"Things to post on the blog I wish my mom kept"

We always have these little moments that would so appropriately be blog-worthy material. She's always telling me, "OMG Mom! You should totally post that on your BLOG!" To this I generally reply, "Yeah, but I can never remember these things when I get ready to actually blog."

If she does actually start the blog she wishes I would keep, I'll definitely link it here. Until then, I'll try to get better about remembering all the little sillies that happen in our lives every day.

new pics!

I just finished posting some new pics from our final night as homeless people and the first day of school for my eldest and my youngest. I'll snag some pics of the middle mann at school on Monday when I meet with his teachers for the first time to review his IEP and figure out how they're going to get all of his services in place at his new school.

Workin' to make some changes 'round here

I'm going to be working on the originality factor of my blog layout in the coming days. I took an awesome picture today and I'm hoping it'll work as a header pic, but I'm also hoping I can do something more original with the blogger template and it's layout limitations, err...um....rules.

Sad-Break-Up-Heart

I'm afraid that my sweet little girl is going to be facing the realities of sad-break-up-heart pretty soon. This is inevitably causing me to feel the impending doom of mommy's-been-there-and-I-wish-I-could-make-it-so-this-never-has-to-happen-but-it-won't-be-the-last-time-heart.

They're on the phone right now. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Who knows, maybe I'm just thinking the worst and there is no real reason to worry.

When it's really a cold...

I'm going to throw something out here and just see where it lands.

  • If the whole of your family and the people you spend the most time with start to sound like they're talking through their nose just like you, you might have a cold.
  • If your kid asks you to share whatever made your nose so runny so that they can get a day off school, you might have a cold.
  • If you wish you could spend your day pulling your nostrils apart so that they don't touch any other part of your sinus', you might have a cold.
  • When you can't sleep because your choking on your snot, you might have a cold.
  • When you wear a sweatshirt in Florida to stave off the chills, you might have a cold.
  • When not even Taco Bell sounds like a good choice for lunch because you can't taste anything, though it's your favorite place to eat, you might have a cold.
Any others?

Do I really have a bug?

I just moved here and already, something appears to have infected me.

My head is throbbing.
My throat is burning.
My nose is running.
My body is aching.

Could I actually be sick or might this some sort of common "Huge Life Change" immunity reaction?

when dreams make you not want to sleep

It's been like that for me quite regularly lately. Dreams and more dreams that have really been kicking my butt. I've had more dreams in the last 2 weeks than in the last 6 months.

I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that everything in my life is new, except for my dreams. The crazy things that I can pull up in my sleep ~ either from my past or from the crazy things that I fear ~ have been a little overwhelming lately.

So, I spent the better part of the weekend sleeping during the day. I'm certain that will make sleeping tonight a little difficult, but I'm hoping that the deep dream sleep will not take over such dark places tonight.

New toys

I love being the first to find a new Internet toy (as demonstrated below). Thanks, Lis, for usually being the one to introduce me to new things. I hope you enjoy the video and the new online toy for casting all of your friends in new videos.

Share them all!! Here!

Oh, and most importantly, don't warn them that it's coming. :-)

Cable, Phone, and Internet

While last week, I was reeling from all of the activity of moving in and seeing my stuff in our new house, this week, I've reconnected to the outside world from my home.

Just in time to catch the Premier Week on ABC!!

The cable company down here as a 3 for 1 package that includes cable, internet, and phone service. And because it's the introductory 6 months, we also have some premium channels on the cable. The internet is supposedly lightning fast, but I'm not as yet 100% convinced that they measure speed with the same ruler as the Pacific Northwest. I'm sure we'll get used to it and miss it terribly once we can't afford the package in 6 months...cuz I'm sure they'll "Jack My Price Up!" (dang it! I can't find the video to link!)

So, home is wired and fully functional once again. I'm hoping to get more time to blog now. It'll be nice to once again spill my guts and share more of my craziness here. There's plenty going on inside my head these days.

A funny little thing I just read...

Can you think of a better way to address this timeless problem of communicating the importance of certain aspects of our lives and the consequences of our choices?

It's all becoming real now...

We officially have an address. In Florida.

Our stuff arrived today and we'll be working tomorrow to get as much of it unpacked as necessary.

I'm going to try to get the kids enrolled in school tomorrow too. You'd be surprised how difficult they try to make getting your kids into schools around here.

I'll let you know how it goes.

okay, WOW, it's been a while....can I be forgiven?

So yeah, I haven't posted in a WHILE! I'm so sorry about that. I have details and new funnies galore! It really will take some time to get all caught up on everything. Please be patient as I upload a few smallish posts in a row to cover some of the most wonderfullest parts of the last couple of weeks.

Oh! And I'm going to try and put up a little poll to get some help in answering a really important question. I'll go work on that now...
